Speaker: Dr Argelia Balbuena Ortega
Argelia Balbuena Ortega earned her Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Sciences from the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (BUAP) in Mexico, where she also completed her Master’s and PhD in Applied Physics. She has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals and is a Level I member of the Mexican National System of Researchers (SNI). Her main research areas include optics and photonics.
Currently, Dr Balbuena is part of the Researchers for Mexico Programme (CONAHCYT), assigned to the Institute of Renewable Energies (IER-UNAM), where her work focuses on thermographic studies of materials, devices, and processes for renewable energy applications.
In addition to her research in renewable energies, she is actively engaged in nonlinear optics and structured light fields at the Institute of Physics of UNAM, exploring innovative intersections between light and sustainable energy systems.
